Check out this video on Leafy Liverwort:
https://youtu.be/vLSx0wnztXQLeafy liverworts have gametophytic shoots with two or three rows of veinless leaves. The sporophytes are non-photosynthetic and grow upwards, mainly by cell expansion. P. platyphylla is extremely tolerant of drought and, like other liverworts, contains membrane-bound oil bodies.
You will be receiving Porella platyphylla Leafy liverwort which has been dehydrated for shipping, when she arrives just rehydrate her by spraying water on her, and within seconds she comes back to life. Do have a look at my other moss, liverwort, and lichen collection for sale in my Etsy shop, and chose a selection. Liverworts can remain alive even during periods of drought, resuming photosynthesis when moistened again by rain or even fog.
This liverwort make a natural addition to moss gardens as they would grow together with Lichen in the wild.
Do have a look at my other dry moss, Liverwort, and Lichen species for sale and buy a selection, for your table art, garden, pet Terrariums (allow the moss time to set and absorb water before you let your pet play with it, allow up to 1 month for moss to set.)
This carpeting plant is great for moist habitat terrariums. Liverwort loves to be as close to the water, water running over it, and can be submerged at a shallow depth. Your fish, lizards, frogs, and snakes will love this plant.
Historically, three taxonomic bryophyte groups have been recognized and now represent the three main divisions in this group: Marchantiophyta (liverworts), Bryophyta (mosses) and Anthocerotophyta (hornworts). The three main groups have diversified throughout their evolutionary history, making it difficult to identify the specific characters separating these three groups.
The status of bryophytes as the oldest living land plants is widely accepted
